'My Chair' was originally commissioned by the National Museum of Scotland to coincide with the museums showing of the Jerwood Applied Arts Prize in Furniture, and has subsequently been displayed at the London Design Festival and the Milan Furniture Fair.

The project aims to develop techniques for encouraging meaningful consumer and audience participation in the production, consumption and interpretation of furniture and product design.

The creative methodologies developed for the project such as the use of design templates to assist in enabling designers and the general public alike to indulge their design fantasies and participate in the creation of new chair designs have been presented and published at leading international design conferences.
